We are proud of the FRÜH hospitality, which is rich in tradition!
The famous „Brauhaus Früh am Dom“ is located in the building next door, inviting residents and guests from all over the world to enjoy the typical Cologne hospitality.
The traditional waiter "Köbes" is happy to take your food and drinks orders. Our very own "Kölsch" and typical regional dishes are served on smoothly scrubbed wooden tables. You won’t be alone for long, according to the Cologne motto „Dringste eine met?“, which means as much as „Have a drink with me“. Enjoy a draft „FRÜH Kölsch“ beer and be surprised what the waiter serves you after ordering a „halven Hahn“ (word-to-word translation: “half a chicken”) in our traditional "Brauhaus".
Typically "Kölsch" since 1904
Shortly after the turn of century in 1904, Peter Josef Früh established his new brewhouse called "Cölner Hofbräu P. Josef Früh" in the building of the former Central Theatre. This very day the heart of the FRÜH-gastronomy still beats at this place. In the cosy rooms of the brewhouse the traditional waiter “Köbes” cares for your bodily comforts and serves local “Kölsch” beer and typical regional dishes on smoothly scrubbed wooden tables. The seats in the beergarden are a popular place to be, as soon as the weather is nice.
One part of the Früh history has been hidden for a long time: our "Brauhaus Cellar". The medieval vaults in the former fermentation and storage cellar have been exposed and restored after the relocation of the brewery in 1998. Since that time draft "Kölsch" beer is served at the cellar bar. Look over the chef's shoulder while preparing your meal in our open kitchen.
